Carpets4Less – Terms & Conditions of Sale

These Terms & Conditions apply to all sales made in-store or by phone through Carpets4Less (No.1) Ltd or its authorised franchisees. Please read carefully before placing your order.

1. Estimates and Pricing

  • All estimates are indicative, based on prevailing prices on the estimate date, and valid for 14 days, unless otherwise specified.
  • Final pricing will be confirmed on the invoice. Prices include VAT, where applicable.
  • Estimates may be adjusted to reflect price changes between estimate issuance and invoice/payment.

2. Delivery and Timeframes

  • Delivery and installation dates are provided in good faith, but are not guaranteed. Time is not of the essence unless specifically agreed in writing on the invoice.
  • Carpets4Less is not liable for delays caused by suppliers, transport, or other events beyond its control.
  • The company will communicate proactively regarding any expected delays.

3. Order Cancellation

  • For goods made to order (including custom-cut carpet, vinyl, or LVT), cancellations or refunds are not permitted once cutting or processing has begun.
  • For regular, non-custom goods, cancellations may be accepted at the company’s discretion, if the order has not been processed.
  • If material supply becomes impossible, the company may, at its discretion, cancel or amend the affected part(s) of the contract.

4. Product and Colour Variation

  • Product samples and images are for guidance. Colour, pattern, and texture may vary between batches, and natural variations are not considered faults.
  • Matching of multiple sections, especially on stairs or with patterned carpets, may be limited and is not guaranteed.
  • Pile pressure, shading, and pattern effects are natural characteristics of carpets and do not constitute defects.

5. Fitting and Installation Services

  • If you ask Carpets4Less to arrange installation, you appoint the company as your agent to introduce a suitable independent, self-employed fitter.
  • The contract for fitting is directly between you and the fitter, who is solely responsible for workmanship and service standards.
  • Carpets4Less is not a party to your contract with the fitter and does not employ the fitter. Any complaints or defects relating to fitting should be addressed directly to the fitter.
  • The company facilitates communication and coordination, but is not liable for fitting quality. However, Carpets4Less will assist with reasonable dispute resolution if issues arise.
  • Payment for fitting must be made directly to the fitter upon completion unless otherwise agreed. Carpets4Less may charge a separate, clearly stated facilitation fee.
  • Requests for uplift/disposal of old flooring and moving furniture are subject to additional agreement and are provided at the fitter's discretion (excluding valuables and large items). Specialist carpentry is not included.

6. Payment Terms

  • Full payment for goods is required before delivery or installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Payment for fitting services must be made directly to the fitter, separately from the payment for goods.
  • Accepted payment methods: Mastercard, Visa, Cash or BACS transfer or card.

7. Ownership and Risk

  • Goods remain the property of Carpets4Less until full payment is received.
  • Risk passes to the customer on delivery or installation.
  • Customers may not sell, assign, or otherwise dispose of unpaid goods without written permission.
  • The company may repossess goods or recover costs if payment is overdue or dishonoured.

8. Faults, Inspection & Returns

  • Customers must inspect goods upon delivery or fitting and report faults or discrepancies within 3 days.
  • Faulty or not-as-described goods will be repaired, replaced, or refunded in line with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  • Shading, pile pressure, and batch variations are not faults.

9. Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers are responsible for providing accurate room measurements unless measured by Carpets4Less.
  • All rooms must be clear of furniture and prepared for fitting; disposal of old flooring is the customer’s responsibility unless specifically agreed otherwise.

10. Late Payments and Charges

  • Where credit is provided and an invoice is unpaid by the due date, interest accrues at 2% above the Bank of England base rate per month (or part month), or as reasonably varied.
  • Reasonable debt recovery fees and charges for dishonoured payments (£20 administration fee) may apply.

11. Data Protection

  • Carpets4Less collects and processes personal information as required for order fulfilment and customer service, in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • All contracts and disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of their courts.

13. Complaints and Quality Assurance

  • Any fitting complaints should be raised with the fitter, but we also request customer also log them with the relevant Carpets4Less store and info@carpets4less.com. The original fitter is responsible for remedy within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Persistence of poor performance by any fitter will result in reconsideration of their engagement by Carpets4Less.
  • The business remains responsible for the products sold, but not the installation. If goodwill remedies are provided, Carpets4Less will seek to recover costs from the fitter where appropriate.

By placing an order, you accept these terms. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
